I went to see the Noah movie yesterday. Let me begin first by saying - I had read other reviews and knew what to expect. I went in with my eyes open - it wouldn't be the correct portrayal. To be honest, I liked it.
I liked it because I didn't have high expectations about it.
Lots of my friends are offended by it, saying that was the worst - movie - ever - on and on. But what you have to know before watching it is -
I don't think it was made by Christians, but I could be wrong. They made up stuff to make the story better for Hollywood - crazy stuff - untrue stuff. I personally think the Bible version is just fine as is, but that's my opinion and nothing else.
What was positive about it?
1 - big hollywood stars, big hollywood budget for a BIBLE story - awesome
2 - the story did keep to the point - wicked world got wiped out - good prevailed over evil
3 - they told the story of creation, as it really happened! BOOYAH!!!
This was what stood out for me, and I felt the Holy Spirit warm fuzzy feeling in my heart when that part of the movie occurred. They didn't talk about evolution, or the big bang theory or whatever else is falsely told about how God created Earth and man.
If nothing else, they told the creation story.
I liked the movie because it was exactly what I thought it would be. A story that was changed a lot, but mostly kept to how it went down, about Noah and his struggle to do what God wanted him to do. Very cool special effects too!
The rock people, Watchers, were crazy - who thought that was a good idea? lol - but seriously, why not check out what the book of Daniel says about the Watchers? go read it !! My husband contributed that part - he said, if nothing else, it might make people go read about the Watchers.
I also, almost fainted, when buddy was killing animals on the ark, but I'm sure that part wasn't true either LOL.
Food for thought - can you really expect people who aren't born again, Spirit filled, to hit the nail on the head when making a Bible story? Think about it! Don't forget, we ALL have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
Snaps to the Noah movie people, for desiring to make a movie out of a true Bible story.
